Originally from south central Virginia, Madi relocated from Richmond, Virginia to Columbus, Ohio in 2023. She has worked in health care as an EMT/Paramedic, direct care provider and hospital administrator since 1992. Along with her direct patient care experience, she also has extensive work experience and training in emergency management, disaster planning, response and mitigation, emergency and hospital communications and patient transportation. Currently, Madi works in the area of physician education.
Along with her professional experience and training listed above, Madi studied Psychology, Sociology, Counseling and mental health in both her undergraduate and graduate studies.
Madi is a member of the LGBTQIA+ community and has been active with her employers’ employee resource groups since 2021, including multiple terms as an ERG co-chair. She has given multiple presentations discussing ethical care of the LGBTQI+ patient, health care disparities impacting the transgender population and dispelling myths regarding transgender health care. Madi has also helped develop policies, procedures and trainings regarding transitioning in the workplace and equality for LGBTQIA+ team members.
While Madi has grown to love the Ohio State University Buckeyes, her heart still beats orange and blue for her University of Virginia Cavaliers.
